Phil Gregory, PE, GE: Senior Principal Engineer
Mr. Gregory is an experienced geotechnical engineer and project manager who has managed numerous geotechnical related infrastructure projects. He has technical expertise in the analysis and design of slope stabilization measures including geosynthetic reinforced slopes and embankments, CIDH pile structures, and segmental block and soil nail retaining structures. Mr. Gregory is a registered civil and geotechnical engineer with more than 33 years of professional experience.
Mitch Wolfe PG, CEG: Principal Geologist
Mr. Wolfe is responsible for coordinating and overseeing geologic site characterization for all projects. He also manages all geotechnical peer review, special inspection, and field observation services. Mr. Wolfe has extensive experience in the characterization and mitigation of large landslides, and is a registered geologist and certified engineering geologist with more than 38 years of professional experience.
Chris Hockett PE, GE: Principal Engineer
Mr. Hockett is a geotechnical engineer who has been with Cal Engineering & Geology since 2004. He has expertise in pre-fabricated bridge structures, geogrid-reinforced soil slopes, microtunneling, and segmental retaining wall designs. He also routinely prepares plans and specifications for municipal agencies.
Dan Peluso, PE, GE: Principal Engineer
Mr. Peluso is a geotechnical engineer with extensive experience planning and managing geotechnical investigations and construction monitoring. His expertise includes large bridge and interchange design projects, including the Fresno SR 180 Braided Ramps and the Gerald Desmond Bridge Replacement. Mr. Peluso is a registered civil and geotechnical engineer with 32 years of experience and is responsible for managing CE&G’s new office in San José.
G. Reid Fisher, PG, CEG: Principal Geologist
Dr. Fisher has successfully managed and conducted geologic projects, services, and research. He has authored and coauthored numerous technical papers and abstracts in US Geological Survey publications and in professional journals. Reid’s primary areas of expertise include regional seismotectonic investigations, fault studies, and slope stability characterization and analysis. Dr. Fisher is a certified engineering geologist with 37 years of experience and works out of CE&G’s San José office.
Mark Myers, PE, GE: Principal Engineer
Mr. Myers is an experienced project manager with substantial expertise in the design of earth retention systems for public and private facilities. He has extensive experience in the design of CIDH pile supported retaining wall systems for slope stabilization, reinforced earth structures; and retaining walls and routinely uses a variety of pile and slope stability analysis and seismic response programs. Mr. Myers is a registered civil engineer and geotechnical engineer with 22 years of professional experience.
Dave Burger, PG, EG:
Mr. Burger is a professional geologist and engineering geologist who has been with Cal Engineering & Geology since 2004. He has expertise in geologic investigations for public agencies including levee and flood control projects, landslide repairs and geologic mapping projects, and foundation studies for residential and commercial development. Mr. Burger also has expertise in liner system installation processes and quality assurance during grading and liner placement.
Dave Buscheck, PE:
Mr. Buscheck is a registered civil engineer with 23 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and construction. He has expertise in the areas of construction cost estimating and damage assessment/repair design for a variety of structures. At Cal Engineering & Geology he is responsible for geotechnical testing and special inspection services as well as residential insurance causation studies.
Josh Wagner, GIT: Manager of UAS and Remote Sensing Services
Educated in the geosciences and GIS, Mr. Wagner spent his career merging technologies and applications to solve complex industry challenges in innovative and pragmatic ways. As a registered UAS pilot and business minded individual, Joshua looks to be at the forefront of UAS data collection and analysis for engineering, geology, and environmental projects.
Steve Watry, PE, GE, PG, EG: Senior Engineer
Mr. Watry is registered as a civil and geotechnical engineer and a professional and certified engineering geologist who has worked with Cal Engineering & Geology as an independent consultant since 1994. He has experience on a wide variety of public infrastructure projects and expertise in the investigation and analysis of large bedrock landslides. Mr. Watry has published numerous papers on the residual shear strength of bentonitic bedding plane shears in marine sedimentary bedrock and has over 37 years of professional experience.
Eli Zane, PE, GE: Associate Engineer
Mr. Zane is an experienced geotechnical and civil engineer who has been with Cal Engineering & Geology since 2005. He has expertise in construction quality assurance monitoring of low permeability and geosynthetic liner systems, installation processes, quality assurance during grading and liner placement, reinforced earth structures and retaining walls, monitoring of slope movement using inclinometers, and slope stability analysis.
Janet Kouns: Marketing & Business Development Manager
Mrs. Kouns is an accomplished marketing professional with a proven record of success in marketing strategy and execution, proposal development, project management, and customer acquisition. She has an M.B.A., coupled with years of experience managing integrated marketing campaigns including product launches, re-branding campaigns, customer acquisition, customer life-cycle management, and corporate events.
